from Dead Poets Society:
KEATING Mr. Pitts, would you open your hymnal to page 542 and read the first stanza of the poem you find there?
PITTS "To the virgins, to make much of time"?
KEATING Yes, that's the one. Somewhat appropriate, isn't it.
PITTS "Gather ye rosebuds while ye may, old time is still a flying, and this same flower that smiles today, tomorrow will be dying."
KEATING Thank you Mr. Pitts. "Gather ye rosebuds while ye may." The Latin term for that sentiment is Carpe Diem. Now who knows what that means?
Meeks immediately puts his hand up.
MEEKS Carpe Diem. That's "seize the day."
KEATING Very good, Mr.-
MEEKS Meeks.
KEATING Meeks. Another unusual name. Seize the day. Gather ye rosebuds while ye may. Why does the writer use these lines?
CHARLIE Because he's in a hurry.
KEATING No, ding!
Keating slams his hand down on an imaginary buzzer.
KEATING Thank you for playing anyway. Because we are food for worms lads. Because, believe it or not, each and every one of us in this room is one day going to stop breathing, turn cold, and die.

Da, excelenta idee. Am zis eu ca colorblind-ul asta e o comoara ascunsa. :P
Profesoara intreaba in clasa: ce vrea sa spuna Wordsworth cu aceste versuri ?
"The radiance which was once so bright Is now forever taken from my sight. Though nothing can bring back the hour of splendor in the grass Of glory in the flower We will grieve not Rather find strength in what remains behind."
(Splendor in the grass - 1961, Elia Kazan)

Holly Golightly: He's all right! Aren't you, cat? Poor cat! Poor slob! Poor slob without a name! The way I see it I haven't got the right to give him one. We don't belong to each other. We just took up one day by the river. I don't want to own anything until I find a place where me and things go together. I'm not sure where that is but I know what it is like. It's like Tiffany's.
Paul Varjak: Tiffany's? You mean the jewelry store.
Holly Golightly: That's right. I'm just CRAZY about Tiffany's! ____________________________
Paul Varjak: You know what's wrong with you, Miss Whoever-you-are? You're chicken, you've got no guts. You're afraid to stick out your chin and say, "Okay, life's a fact, people do fall in love, people do belong to each other, because that's the only chance anybody's got for real happiness." You call yourself a free spirit, a "wild thing," and you're terrified somebody's gonna stick you in a cage. Well baby, you're already in that cage. You built it yourself. And it's not bounded in the west by Tulip, Texas, or in the east by Somali-land. It's wherever you go. Because no matter where you run, you just end up running into yourself. ______________________
Paul Varjak: I love you.
Holly Golightly: So what.
Paul Varjak: So what? So plenty!

Si-apoi flirtul. Si nenea n-are haz, rar. Sorry. Uite mai iau filmul odata. :P :?

"Adesso che ho perso la vista, ci vedo meglio e di più."
Sample from the Italian film "Cinema Paradiso", which means "Now that I'm blind, I can see much clearer." The liner note text is from the video for Take The Time, and is incorrect. In the film it is "Ora che ho perso la vista ci vedo di più.", which has the same translation.
so happy ca am facut rost de Nuovo Cinema Paradiso, pe care o sa il vizionez in seara asta sau in uichend:P, filmul e al lui tornatore, si e dt related, in sensul ca pe take the time, apare sample-ul respectiv

some more stuff from 'dead poets society':
[Keating is standing on his desk] John Keating: Why do I stand up here? Dalton: To feel taller! John Keating: No! [Dings a bell with his foot] John Keating: Thank you for playing Mr. Dalton. I stand upon my desk to remind myself that we must constantly look at things in a different way. _________________ John Keating: Boys, you must strive to find your own voice. Because the longer you wait to begin, the less likely you are to find it at all. Thoreau said, "Most men lead lives of quiet desperation." Don't be resigned to that. Break out! _________________ John Keating: We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for. To quote from Whitman, "O me! O life!... of the questions of these recurring; of the endless trains of the faithless... of cities filled with the foolish; what good amid these, O me, O life? Answer. That you are here - that life exists, and identity; that the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse." That the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?
